Animal Adventure World
Visit the Altmühltaler Animal Adventure World!
The museum is located directly across from our inn. We lovingly and lavishly refurbished our old historic law-point with marvelous beams and attic from the 17th century and converted it on several floors to the museum.
Get to know the unique native flora and fauna on a tour through our museum. Over 800 precious animal specimens are impressively and characteristically presented in realistic situations.
In fascinating dioramas, the exhibition shows the most important habitats in the Altmühltal Nature Park, one of Germany's most beautiful and largest nature parks. Learn more about the inhabitants of the local forests, the typical dry and nutrient-poor grasslands as well as the Altmühl and its old waters.
Discover and hear the breathtaking wildlife at night and listen to the voices of nocturnal animals: Through the forest, for example, the cries and shouts of fox, marten and eagle owl sound.
Marvel at majestic birds of prey that are waiting for the next prey hunt. Enjoy playful badgers who find the best living conditions in the Altmühljura.
Admire the industrious woodpeckers who build new caves every five to ten years. New lodgers are already waiting for the old residences, such as jackdaws, forest owls and bats. On the sunny dry grass slopes rare, colorful butterflies frolic.
Illustrative and informative, the exhibition introduces the secrets of wildlife in the Altmühltal Nature Park. Take your time on the voyage of discovery, much you will see only at second glance.
The opening hours of our museum are similar to those of the restaurant.
